The site previously has accommodated a pair of traditional two storey semi-detached houses built in the 1930s. The property is bounded at the rear by the garden to a residential property. To the west of the site is another pair of semi-detached properties. A four storey 1960s residential block comprising 20 flats, is located to the east, with parking and amenity space to rear.
The project comprises of a four storey residential building which accommodates 5 one bedroom flats and 4 two bedroom flats, with parking and amenity space to rear. The architectural styling corresponds to a contemporary looking residential building, keeping in context with the local street scene.
Geoff Beardsley & Partners produced a design that maximised the development potential of the site, obtained planning and building control approval, integrated the structural information and produced construction drawings.
